JeAnne was fortunate enough to discover her calling of Massage Therapy as a career when downsizing was a recurring theme in her corporate job. Upon graduation from Potomac Massage Training Institute in July 1999, she began Treat Yourself Right, her independent massage practice, and obtained her first massage therapy license in October of that year.
While building her solo practice, she also worked as an independent contractor at an integrative wellness clinic, where she had the opportunity to be part of a healthcare team including other massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, physical therapists, and other practitioners. She was asked to apply as a research massage therapist at the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2003, but declined, due to her pending move to Charlottesville in 2004.
When not in the Treat Yourself Right! Massage & Bodywork office, she is working on the road, continuing her studies of the science and art of massage and related modalities, or swing dancing.
